New Delhi: After a year into the pandemic-driven remote working, 40 per cent of Indian businesses reported an increase in the cyber attack volume, severity and/or scope of cyber attacks in the last 12 months in comparison to the global figure of 47 per cent, a new report has showed.

A recently disclosed flaw in chipsets from Taiwanese semiconductor company Realtek is being targeted by a botnet based on the old IoT malware, Mirai.
German security firm IoT Inspector reports that the Realtek bug, tracked as CVE-2021-35395, affects over 200 Wi-Fi and router products from 65 vendors, including Asus, Belkin, China Mobile, Compal, D-Link, LG, Logitec, Netgear, ZTE, and Zyxel.

Was your information stolen as part of the T-Mobile hack this month? According to T-Mobile, the attack exposed personal data of more than 13.1 million current customers and 40 million former or prospective customers, including names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. That makes more than 50 million customers of T-Mobile and its prepaid Metro network who may have had private information exposed.

A cyber security researcher discovered nearly two million terrorist watchlist records, including “no-fly” list indicators, which were left exposed online last month.
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not remove them until three weeks later. Cyber security researcher Bob Diachenko came across a plethora of records that were exposed online.
